Resident urges EDC to honor handshake deals, says board should decide collectively

David Lehman, introduced as a Dickinson resident, used his three minutes during the public‑comment period to press the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation to honor informal agreements and to keep decisionmaking inside the board.
"When we shake somebody's hand and do a deal, we gotta do that deal unless there's absurd inconsistencies," Lehman said, arguing that the board should not allow personnel absences or outside liaisons to undermine commitments. He said the community and his family ties to the town inform his view that the board should act to help Dickinson grow.
Lehman also urged the board to rely on the authority of its seven members alone in executive sessions and when making recommendations to the city council, saying decisions "should be yours alone, collectively." The public comment concluded without any formal board response on the record.
