Dublin residents urge council to bar industrial uses near homes in West Innovation District
Summary
Several residents and dozens of online respondents urged Dublin City Council to prohibit industrial, manufacturing and R&D land uses near Ballantree and Hoocherd Road in the West Innovation District, arguing that setbacks and mounding won’t protect nearby families and asking council to revise Envision Dublin and oppose Ordinance 06‑25.

Multiple residents and online commenters used the citizen‑comment portion of the March 9 meeting to press council on land‑use plans for the West Innovation District (WID), urging officials to prohibit industrial uses near existing homes and asking that Envision Dublin be revised to reflect those concerns.
Jennifer Hamill opened in person testimony saying, "My impression when council tabled the vote at that time was that the city would look into what else they could do in that space," and asked council not to redistrict parcels for industrial purposes next to neighborhoods. Dan Hamill and a series of online submissions repeated similar themes, arguing that "a 200 foot setback and mounding does not protect Dublin's children" and explicitly asked councilors to vote no on "ordinance 06‑25."
