A district staff member presented an information-only procurement item proposing two cooperatives to the district’s approved list to support child nutrition purchasing.
“These cooperatives provide legally compliant procurement vehicles specifically for our child nutrition program,” staff said, explaining that adding Texas 20 and Region 10 Multi-Region Cooperative will allow staff to begin competitive procurement for commodities used in the district’s nutrition operations. Staff emphasized these cooperatives would be one of multiple procurement sources and that the item would return on the May 20 consent agenda for formal approval.
Trustees asked whether contracts above $50,000 would come to the board; staff confirmed such contracts will be presented as required. The item was received as information and will return for board action on the consent agenda.
