Council approved a resolution designating a portion of Cleburne’s industrial park as the Mann Family Industrial Park in recognition of the Mann family’s decades‑long business and civic contributions.
City staff described the Mann family’s local history — land assemblies, establishment of agriculture services and a Purina dealership, and past public service — and noted that some of the land now hosts major employers. Mr. Packer presented the resolution language and images provided by a family member; Mayor Scott Kane then moved to approve the designation and the council carried the motion unanimously. Kane said staff will design and place a marker marking the area and emphasized that the designation will not affect current property owners or businesses.
The council presentation noted the family’s civic involvement and that Mike Mann had served two terms on the council; staff will proceed with marker design and public recognition consistent with the approved resolution.
