Cedar Park proclaims World Wish Month, highlights local Make‑A‑Wish cases

The Cedar Park City Council on Wednesday proclaimed April 2026 as World Wish Month and invited Make‑A‑Wish Central & South Texas to highlight local work. Andrea Torrens, the chapter CEO, told the council the local office currently has four Cedar Park children with wishes waiting to be granted and encouraged residents to volunteer and donate.
“Wishes are not just a nice thing. Wishes are good medicine,” Torrens said, describing research and family stories the chapter uses to support its work. The mayor read a formal proclamation recounting the organization’s origins and the chapter’s history, including that Make‑A‑Wish of Central and South Texas has granted more than 6,500 wishes since its founding in 1984.
