Commissioners press staff on traffic and pedestrian access near new Market Gateway restaurant

Commissioners raised traffic and pedestrian-safety concerns for the proposed restaurant site at Market Gateway given a nearby high school and a large church. "Is there any concern about traffic pattern at all due to the fact that there's a high school right over there as well as a giant church... Was there a study done on that?" asked Commissioner Mike Ingraham.
Planning staff responded that entrances and circulation were considered when the Market Gateway traffic study was completed, noted the site does not have direct access to Highway 157 and said TxDOT manages approaches on 157. Staff also confirmed a required sidewalk will provide pedestrian access from 157 into the development.
