Council approves Discount Tire specific‑use permit for Liberty Hills; 6–1 vote

"We have representatives for the tenant as well as the master developer in attendance tonight," Mechke said and noted the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval and that the city received no public comments on the item.
Discount Tire representative Juan Vasquez described the company as a national retailer that focuses on tires and wheels and said the store would serve residents who otherwise travel to nearby cities. "All they do is tires and wheels. There is no oil. There is no brakes. There is no bodywork," Vasquez said. The council discussed location, visibility from Highway 75, screening of outside storage and conformance with the comprehensive plan; the council approved the SUP on a 6–1 vote.
