Traffic study, university connections and temporary parking are top follow‑ups for Causeway Commons

Commissioners told the applicant they need a traffic impact study and clearer commitments on pedestrian connectivity and parking before advancing rezoning. The applicant said the traffic study is in progress and that an MOU with city engineering and the applicant’s traffic engineers is part of that work.
“...the traffic study requires the negotiation of an MOU with city engineering staff, with our traffic engineers,” the applicant said, adding the team expects that work to be “done in about 60 days.” Commissioners repeatedly said pedestrian crossings across SR‑161 and better connections to Dublin Green and Ohio University will be crucial to the project’s success and safety.
Commissioners also expressed concern about temporary surface parking shown in concept plans. Several asked that any temporary lots be fully landscaped, buffered and treated to city standards and that the development text limit how long temporary lots may remain. Staff and the applicant agreed to provide more detailed scenarios for parking staging, buffers for grocery parking and phasing that keeps early public amenities useable.
