Planning commission approves amended scoreboard plan for Dublin Jerome High School

The Planning & Zoning Commission voted to approve the amended final development plan for the Dublin Jerome High School scoreboard at 8300 Highland Croix Road.
Mark Ford of Ford & Associates Architects, representing the school district, told the commission the project aims to “standardize the video board sizes” across the district and to reuse existing structural components rather than replace foundations. Ford described the change as a “fairly simple case” focused on updated display technology and a decorative arch element to match the district’s aesthetic.
City staff detailed the dimensions. Staff noted the existing football scoreboard measures about 17 by 34 feet (roughly 500 square feet) and that the amended text would permit a proposed board of about 20 feet 4 inches by 34 feet (about 688.5 square feet) and would increase allowable sponsor logos from two to eight. “Staff recommends approval with no conditions,” a staff member said.
Chair moved to approve the amended plan with no conditions; a commissioner seconded the motion and the commission recorded an affirmative vote and carried the measure. The approval updates the PUD text to allow the larger size and the expanded sponsor panel configuration; no additional conditions or revisions were attached by the commission.
