Park board highlights ARC grand opening, membership targets and future master planning

"This is the biggest project DeSoto's had in 30 years," Dreyer said, noting a gala the night before and a grand opening ribbon cutting scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and an event running until 1:30 p.m. He said membership targets had not yet been met and the board was exploring program, pricing and potential family or senior discounts as well as partnership opportunities for health-plan access programs.
Board members asked specific operational questions—whether family plans or senior discounts would be available and whether the ARC would participate in health-plan fitness programs—and staff said they were exploring options with insurance companies. Dreyer also described a master-planning effort for the park system and said the Parks Board hoped to identify funding and leverage future surpluses to support long-term projects.
