Lake County educators' union previews collective bargaining and referendum outreach

Elizabeth Emery, speaking on behalf of LCA, told the Lake County School Board on June 22 that the bargaining committee has reviewed more than 500 survey responses to inform proposals for instructional compensation and other bargaining topics.
Emery said the union is preparing for collective bargaining and invited employees and community partners to an informational session on a local millage and a safety/security/salary referendum scheduled for June 29 at the Claremont Performing Arts Center from 9 to 11:30 a.m. "The message that all means all is powerful and meaningful," she said about the district work and the training the union provided.
She also thanked district staff for quick budget presentations after the state finalized the budget and described upcoming professional development opportunities for educators.
