Leland Theriault, president of Lake Community Arts, addressed the Lake County School Board on June 22 to announce a partnership with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to bring the "young people's concerts" to Lake County in October 2026.
Theriault said Lake Community Arts will finance student transportation and work with district staff (including Cicely Bosley and Lake County Schools) to provide two professional development days for arts educators, host a high school honors choir and contribute to an elementary honors choir. "We will help coordinate this initiative, ensuring that thousands of elementary students experience a live symphony orchestra performance," Theriault said.
Board members thanked Theriault and the superintendent noted enthusiasm for continuing the partnership; no formal action was required from the board during the meeting.
