Del Valle ISD outlines plan to raise CCMR rates; Lamar University partnership highlighted

"Our CCMR indicator is to move from 68% to 90 percent," Dr. Bailey said, and she outlined specific root causes the district is addressing: inconsistent student-level data tracking, scheduling that leaves some students off coherent pathways, and limited access to qualifying postsecondary pathways. To address those gaps, staff proposed expanded dual-credit access via a partnership with Lamar University for remedial-to-credit bridging, stronger student-level monitoring (a single verified source of truth), monthly CCMR meetings across departments, and targeted scheduling changes to ensure students are enrolled in appropriate pathway courses.
Trustees asked about space and staffing for CTE programs, the weighting changes TEA will introduce, and how the district will communicate pathway options to families. Dr. Bailey described cohort-based plans for classes of 2027'29 and said additional outreach and counseling will be embedded in high school academic counseling. The board approved the presentation as presented.
