Del Valle ISD outlines AVID pilot for middle schools; trustees ask about capacity and cost

Dr. Bailey said AVID would be scheduled as an elective and principals have identified interested teachers; training and curriculum access are included in the cost. Trustee discussion emphasized piloting at small scale, fidelity to the AVID model and the importance of parent informational sessions before roll‑out.
The board did not record a final vote on AVID during this presentation but directed staff to proceed with information meetings and to include AVID in forthcoming budget planning.
