District finance staff summarized the monthly financial position for the period ending January, reporting a weighted average investment yield of 3.82% and interest earnings for the month of $921,000. Ms. Edgar said the district’s liquidity posture is conservative, with most instruments maturing in 0–1 years and a small portion in longer‑term vehicles.
Ms. Edgar told the board tax collections are concentrated at the end of January: “We collected a total of almost $110,000,000 in net collections with the majority of that coming in at the very end of January.” She said year‑to‑date expenditures were about 59% of budgeted amounts and that instructional services (Function 11) remains the largest area of investment.
