The School District of Manatee County board on July 28 adopted a tentative budget for fiscal year 2026–27 in the amount of $1,671,327,839, approving resolution No. 2026-002 by a 5–0 vote. The superintendent recommended adoption after the deputy superintendent of business services summarized the budget and recent adjustments.
Deputy Superintendent Sellers told the board the tentative budget is summarized in the budget book and showed the projected revenue for the fiscal year (presentation cited roughly $1,670,000,000). She said the general fund represents about 35% of the budget, the capital fund about 38% and internal services about 10%. Sellers also reported an estimated ending fund balance of $51,100,000 as of June 30, 2027.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution; the chair announced the vote passed 5–0. Sellers and the superintendent noted the tentative budget reflects a recent state 2nd funding calculation that reduced projected revenue and changed some program assignments and charter FTE allocations.
