"I just think it'd be simpler," one council member said in favor. Council voted to approve the DORA expansion and to make the Riverside Crossing Park lawn areas permanent DORA zones.
Separately, staff presented a one‑time request from the Columbus Crew and developer partners for a World Cup watch party on June 12 and requested an extension of DORA hours to allow sales through the late match. Council members expressed sympathy for nearby Bridge Park residents and asked staff to include sound‑control and contingency plans. The council approved the temporary extension to permit sales through 11:59 PM (or earlier) on June 12, subject to event permit details and security arrangements.
