The Hurst City Council approved Northeast Mall’s application to host Flip Circus from April 3 through April 14, 2026, following staff recommendation and a public presentation by the event representative.
Milaca Farmer (assistant city manager) and staff confirmed the applicant submitted required layouts and inspection plans and that building and fire inspections would occur before the event opens. Carlos de la Garza, a representative for Flip Circus, said the production is a family circus with no animals, featuring clowns, trapeze artists and a live orchestra; he said ticket prices range from about $35 to $70 depending on seating and performance.
A councilor raised whether the event is collecting and remitting the correct portion of local sales tax; de la Garza said the circus collects sales tax and will verify that the local portion remits to the correct jurisdiction. The council moved to approve the mall’s application and carried the motion by voice vote.
Staff will conduct inspections and confirm licensing and local tax remittance prior to the event opening.
