The council authorized Thompson Commercial Painting LLC to refinish and repair doors and trim at the Hurst Conference Center with a project cost of $85,900 and a 10% contingency not to exceed $94,490, to be paid from current operational revenue. The conference-center general manager (speaker S7) said the work would be phased to avoid disruption to scheduled events.
Separately, the council approved purchasing replacement stage equipment from Wenger Corporation for $80,396.65 to replace worn staging components installed when the center opened in 2010. Staff said the replacement will improve safety and reliability for events; both items were approved by voice vote.
