Precinct 2 advisory board honored as Harris County marks Volunteer Appreciation Day

Commissioner Garcia introduced recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Day (April 20) and praised Precinct 2 advisory board members for sustained neighborhood engagement, volunteer cleanups and helping to inform county projects.
A Clearbrook City MUD representative, Cecilia, thanked the court for improvements including street repairs, sidewalks and flood control and noted active participation from HOAs and MUDs. Lindsay, president of Super Neighborhood 64 and 88 and the Eastwood Civic Association, said the advisory board helped secure a grant to study at-grade rail crossing solutions in the East End and credited the partnership with measurable safety improvements. "This board has been a genuine bridge between our community and Harris County," Lindsay said.
Commissioners asked precinct advisory members to stand for recognition and reiterated the value of community consultation before executing engineering projects.
