Managing growth is a standout concern in Huttos resident survey

Haycock identified how residents view the pace of growth as one of the clearest concerns in the survey data. "Obviously, I think the one that jumps off the page is how well the city is managing growth at 60%," he said, noting that respondents gave comparatively low marks on growth management and on perceived value received for taxes and fees.
The survey also asked residents about the economic mix: while roughly one-third said retail or unskilled-job growth felt "about right," many respondents described population growth and industrial growth as "too fast," and respondents rated growth in skilled jobs as occurring too slowly. Haycock recommended targeted outreach and possibly focus groups to probe why respondents perceive growth negatively and to determine whether messaging or policy changes are necessary.
