Survey flags water and wastewater fees as top investment priority for Hutto residents

Robert Haycock said utility services showed mixed but notable concerns, especially around taste of tap water and fees for water and wastewater. "Are those permanent?" he asked rhetorically about recent rate changes, then added that some investments are required: "You're mandated by EPA to invest in certain services, and so you make those investments." Haycock recommended the council and staff explain the reasons for changes and the long-term picture so neutral respondents better understand trade-offs. He proposed follow-up cross-tabulations to show which demographic groups expressed the strongest concerns and offered to provide cross-tabs on request. The presentation did not include any binding budget actions; Council members requested access to raw data for further analysis.
