Commission reviews budget tracker and flags a $200 discrepancy

Commissioner Lim Dulce presented a snapshot of the commission's budget tracker and explained how the sheet currently reflects committed amounts even when invoices have not yet posted to the city's ledger. Lim Dulce said, "1.1 would be $800 in expense," as an example of how line items appear on the internal tracker. Commissioners discussed whether to record items when committed or to wait until invoiced; Lim said she can add more granular splits if the group provides the supporting receipts or invoice details.

The commission also compared two totals for the year's approved budget and noted about a $200 discrepancy. Chair asked staff to check with finance and confirm whether $17,050 or $16,850 is the approved figure and to amend the tracker accordingly. The commission agreed to continue reviewing the tracker at every meeting so members can monitor commit-versus-spend in near-real time.
