Council approves first reading for special-use permit to allow tattooing at Southridge Court spa

The Hurst City Council approved on first reading Ordinance 26-27 to allow Why Not Beauty, at 1244 Southridge Court Suite 103, to host a single tattoo operator by special-use permit. Planning staff described the permit as limited to one operator working by appointment in an existing suite and asked council to approve the first reading; the ordinance will return for a second reading with no additional public hearing.

Owner Melody Yanez told the council she added tattoo services because customers requested them and to provide an alternative to traditional tattoo shops: “I want to get a tattoo, but I don't want to go into an actual tattoo parlor,” she said, identifying herself as the business owner.
