Alex Benavides, first assistant district attorney, told the court the investigators’ response exemplified ‘‘courage, selflessness, and dedication to duty.’’ Hector Garcia, who recovered from what staff described as an ischemic stroke, thanked his colleagues and said, "Their actions actually saved my life," before describing his hospital recovery. The court approved the resolution and offered public thanks to the investigators.
