Residents from Colonia La Loma Trails spoke during open forum to request public streetlighting and safety improvements, telling the court they had gathered petitions and want a meeting with Precinct 3 leadership to plan work.
Martha Corona said she organized residents after suffering strokes and after her exterior wall was knocked down four times, and asked Commissioner Eberardo Villareal for help. Alejandro Cortez said children are unsafe, reported several accidents including a pedestrian fatality and said petitioners collected about 80% of resident signatures supporting streetlighting. "We would like to meet with you to discuss the improvements for our colonia," Cortez said. The court acknowledged the concerns and staff indicated petition and service requests will be processed through precinct channels.
