Residents press council on missed recycling pickups and DART station upkeep

During public comment the Glenn Heights City Council heard two residents describe service shortfalls that they said affect neighborhood quality of life.
Janice King said she lives at 1924 High Meadow and thanked DART for some recent maintenance but urged further work: replace a rusty light pole, remove a large green storage container at a station, fix drainage, and replace a missing height‑clearance crossbar she estimated at "7 feet 6 inches." She said she spoke with DART leadership and expected the city to hold the agency accountable for ongoing upkeep.
Another resident, DeMarcus Alfred of Maplewood, told council regular trash is picked up at his house but recycling is often left behind. He described repeated instances where residents place recycling at the curb and it does not get collected, and he asked the city to require the contractor to implement better tracking and response for complaints.
Mayor Brown and council members acknowledged these concerns during later discussions on both DART and CWD presentations. Council emphasized the need for a city-controlled complaint tracking system and said staff would coordinate with contractors to improve response and reporting.
