Council approves special use permit for Creator's Lab; term set at 25 years

Building & Development Services Director Erin Carr presented a request for a special use permit for Creative Lab Education, an educational program teaching children prompt‑crafting and information evaluation for AI tools, at an existing business park address.

ZAPCO had recommended approval for a 25‑year term, and during council discussion the body added and accepted a friendly amendment to capture that 25‑year term. "This is an SUP because it abuts residential, which is why a conditional use permit kicks it to a special use permit requirement," Director Carr said, describing the ZAPCO recommendation.

A motion to approve the special use permit (with the 25‑year term added) passed unanimously. Council and staff noted the applicant and representative were present and no citizens opposed the request at the meeting.

Staff will finalize administrative paperwork and the permit conditions as directed by council; the transcript records the affirmative vote and no additional conditions beyond term were added on the dais.
