Residents urge Lakeway to add barrier after vehicle nearly crashed into Tuscan Village unit

Several residents of Tuscan Village told council that a March 9 crash left a vehicle extremely close to a first‑floor unit in Building 102, and they asked the city to study physical barriers to prevent a similar incident. "It was 10:30 at night... we saw a vehicle that was 12 feet away from one of the units on the first floor," said Marsha Pastorek, who identified herself as a Lakeway resident and asked the council to "please consider putting up a railing, a border, a barrier" at the site.
John Coyle, a Tuscan Village resident and former fatal‑accident investigator, said the vehicle struck a tree that likely prevented entry into the building and that a guardrail or bollard should be considered. Property manager Kelly Slupic and other residents recounted a prior 2019 crash at the same embankment and said they previously raised the issue with police and building services. The council confirmed staff had previously reviewed the location and noted an engineer would provide a report; council took no immediate action but heard the public's concerns and acknowledged staff study already underway.
