Brazosport Chamber updates Lake Jackson council on tourism wins, local spending figures

Eveth Fisher, representing the Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, briefed the City of Lake Jackson council on the chamber’s 2025 tourism activity and how hotel occupancy tax funds are used across the region. Fisher said the chamber works with industry partners, Travel Texas and Visit Houston programs, and local accommodations to drive overnight stays and dining spending in Lake Jackson.

Fisher cited outreach and media placements, saying the chamber’s paid and earned media had a combined circulation of more than 12,000,000 and a media value of about $190,000. She described a recent social campaign that “had, like, 200,000 views within, like, a day,” and said the chamber distributes printed visitor guides, maps and digital content to direct visitors to Lake Jackson. Fisher told the council that in 2025 Lake Jackson accounted for roughly $1,800,000 in local and state travel receipts and about $16,400,000 in travel spending, figures the chamber obtains from the governor’s office tourism reports.

The presentation emphasized cooperative marketing to stretch the chamber’s budget and ongoing partnerships with regional tourism bodies. Fisher closed by offering the chamber’s continued partnership; council members thanked the presenter and praised the return of a printed map for visitors.
