The City of Lake Jackson council presented certificates of election and administered oaths to officials elected in the May 2, 2026 general election. The presiding official read certificates stating that "was duly elected" for each winning candidate; those sworn included the councilmember who took the oath for council position 2, Ralph L. Buell III for council position 4 and Rhonda Seth for mayor. Each oath concluded with the traditional phrase "So help me God."
The certificates were read aloud by a city official and each newly elected official repeated the oath. The transcript records a certificate text reading that the election occurred on 05/02/2026 and that certificates would be sealed and signed; the council then recessed the presentations and proceeded to other agenda items. Where the transcript shows variant spellings of names (for example, a certificate reading name variant and a differing oath spelling), that inconsistency is noted and should be checked against official canvass records for definitive spelling.
