Council fills Planning and Community Services Commission seats and names alternates

The La Habra City Council made multiple commission appointments and alternates at its April 6 meeting following staff'led recruitment and interview work.
For the Planning Commission, council members nominated and appointed Roy Ramsland to a four-year term ending 03/31/2030; Thomas Ledwinski was selected as the first alternate and Natalie Sains as second alternate. The motion and roll-call votes were recorded and carried unanimously for those positions.
The Community Services Commission action reappointed Annette Limon to a three-year term ending 03/31/2029 and appointed Candace Gutierrez as first alternate. Council then voted on additional alternates after discussion and substitute motions: Noemi Valenzuela was appointed as a 2nd alternate (motion carried 4'1) and Keith Acker was appointed as a 3rd alternate after competing nominations (motion carried 3'2). The city clerk noted staff will contact all applicants about the outcomes.
Councilmembers acknowledged the competitiveness of the applicant pool and encouraged non-selected applicants to reapply. The clerk will follow up with administrative steps to finalize appointments.
