New public map and portal launched for Rethink Folly Road to show projects and gaps

The BCD COG demonstrated an interactive PublicInput map that centralizes past meeting packets, study documents and toggleable project layers (crosswalks, bikeways, sidewalks and conceptual phases) so residents can see what’s completed and what’s planned along Folly Road.
On May 13 the regional COG demonstrated a new public-facing project page and interactive map designed to make the Rethink Folly Road study and its updates easier for the public to navigate. The portal includes agendas, minutes, packets, videos, historical documents dating back to 2016–2019, conceptual design drawings and an interactive map with toggleable layers for project details.
A COG presenter described the mapping features: "you could toggle on and off, where existing crosswalks are or if you wanted to know where the breakdown of phases were ... existing bikeways, sidewalks, all of that can be toggled on and off," and encouraged committee members to suggest additions or corrections. The committee agreed to share the new link broadly across municipal pages and to use the COG-hosted site as the master source of project information while updating other municipal pages with the link.
Staff said remaining tasks include creating a historical record of overlay updates that have occurred and clarifying which elements are included in the SCDOT RSA so the public can clearly see what work has been completed, what is in design and what remains unfunded or planned.
