City says code enforcement sees 95% voluntary compliance; commercial landscaping remediation underway

"Our most common code violations is tall grass and weeds, junk vehicles, trash and debris," Christen said, and he added the city has used third-party arborists to certify remediation at commercial sites; he pointed to recent replacement of dead landscaping at the Walmart property as an example of compliance activity. Christen said the city can escalate unresolved commercial code matters into the court phase and can abate nuisances and place liens when contractors are hired to perform cleanup.
