La Habra staff reschedules National Pet Day, previews American Legion centennial and lease to council

City staff reviewed upcoming community events and announced scheduling changes at the April 8 Community Services Commission meeting.
Staff said National Pet Day was rescheduled to April 18 to avoid forecasted rain and improve event success. Staff also previewed the American Legion's centennial celebration on April 11, saying about 125 guests were expected, dinner would be catered by Fratolinos in Brea, and there would be music, raffle gifts and a DJ. Staff said a lease agreement for the Veterans Hall related to the American Legion will go to council on April 20.
Other items on the calendar included a museum caterpillar-adoption program with added timeslots, a senior dance, a blood drive and a volunteer recognition reception on April 23. Staff encouraged commissioners and residents to RSVP or submit volunteer nominations via the form in the packet.
