At the podium, Lieutenant Ron Resick II thanked the court and recounted working midnight shifts and paying out of pocket for early training and equipment. "I love serving this community," Resick said, adding that modern county support — from vests to radios — has reduced the personal expense volunteers once bore. Family members joined Resick at the front as commissioners and the county judge offered congratulations.
The court framed the proclamation as recognition of long-term community service, citing Resick's roles as a drug-recognition expert, firearms instructor and drone pilot, and listing event support from the Alvarado Old Settlers Reunion to the Junior Livestock Show. No formal action beyond the proclamation was required. The court recessed to other business after laudatory remarks from fellow public safety officials.
