Lillian Peterson, president of the Juneteenth Foundation (speaker 15), described a slate of events: a fish fry on June 5, a unity walk and parade on June 19, a barbecue cook‑off and a new unity gala on June 27 with a speaker program and a mobile Black History exhibit. "We are now on our 6th annual fish fry," Peterson said, and organizers urged residents to attend and support scholarships, cultural programming and community fellowship. Commissioners praised the foundation’s work and invited broad community participation.
