The Rolette County Board of County Commissioners voted Sept. 10 to authorize up to $10,000 from the county emergency fund for immediate repairs to Memorial Hall in Rolette City.
Commissioner Kent Abrahamson moved "Motion to have gutters/down spouts, patch work on brick at ground level and landscaping work completed to not exceed $10,000 taken out of the emergency fund," and Commissioner Cam Mickelson seconded the motion. On roll call, all members voted "AYE" and the motion carried unanimously.
Board discussion noted the building's brick and mortar is crumbling, water is entering the structure, landscaping is needed to divert runoff away from the foundation, and gutters and downspouts are required. Abrahamson said patch work, gutters and landscaping should be completed to prevent further damage.
The board took formal action to fund the immediate repairs from the county's emergency fund and then adjourned the meeting.
