Rolette County commissioners approve mills adjustment for 2025 budget

The Rolette County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 22 to adjust mills in the county’s proposed 2025 budget. Commissioner Cam Mickelson moved to "adjust and go forward with mills," a motion seconded by Commissioner Craig Poitra; on roll call all five members voted “AYE” and the motion carried.
The board previously flagged specific budget updates for 2025: adding a 5% raise line, changes to sheriff and police contract line items (Rolette and St. John noted for increases/decreases), increases to jail line items, and mills adjusted to increase funding for Weed Control and Water Resource. The board set a department budget meeting for Sept. 3, 2024 to finalize those items.
