The Vernon County Board unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-69, approving a Memorandum of Agreement between Vernon County and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry.
County Conservationist David Hettenbach presented the agreement, which notes an outstanding loan balance of $893,127.70 (as of March 17, 2025) owed to the WDNR under § 28.11, Wis. Stats., and specifies that all timber harvested from county lands enrolled in the county forest program shall be subject to a 40% severance share rate of stumpage sales values. The MOA remains in effect until the outstanding loan balance is less than $100,000.
A motion to adopt the resolution was made by Supv Kilmer and seconded by Supv Olson; Chair Lorn Goede called the question and the resolution was adopted by voice vote with all present voting in favor.
