The Vernon County Board adopted a package of personnel-policy updates on Feb. 19. Administrative Coordinator Hanan presented revisions to Policy 001 (Definitions), which amend probationary periods — including an initial 12‑month introductory period for supervisory titles and certain public-safety positions — and clarify terminology throughout Policy 001. The board adopted Resolution 2026‑08 on a voice vote with all present voting in favor.
The board also adopted Resolution 2026‑09 to revise Policy 425 (Paid Leave Time). The changes update how the payroll system tracks Paid Time Off (PTO), clarify accrual schedules, and include an in-session amendment removing the clause “[who are no longer in their probationary period]” from paragraph 4.2. Resolution 2026‑10 amending Policy 427 (Paid Time Off Donation) updated eligibility, donor limits, and procedures for soliciting and transferring donated leave; the policy keeps donations confidential and limits recipient annual caps. Each resolution was adopted by voice vote with those present voting in favor.
