The Vernon County Board on May 21 adopted Resolution 2026-32, a 2026 budget amendment to purchase a replacement handicapped-accessible minivan for the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).
Human Services staff told the board the current van was totaled in a recent hailstorm and that insurance proceeds of $24,500 would be used along with non-lapsing DOT Trust Fund dollars not to exceed $50,000 to complete the purchase. The resolution states this amendment will have no levy impact on Vernon County.
Supv Pedretti moved to adopt the resolution and Supv Stanek seconded; Chair Lorn Goede called the question and, on a voice vote, the motion carried with 19 in favor, 0 opposed and 0 abstaining. The minutes record the insurance payment shortfall and the department’s intent to continue operating the transportation program as planned once the replacement vehicle is purchased.
