Supervisor Goede was elected County Board Chair after a pair of close ballots that concluded 10–9 in his favor, Clerk Jerry Pedretti said at the April 21 meeting. The board then elected Supervisor Beitlich as Vice Chair by the same margin.
The board proceeded to fill committee rosters. For the Conservation and Education Committee, Supervisors Beitlich, Kilmer, Walleser, Eggen and Easterday won the five supervisory seats and Carol Hall was elected the citizen member by unanimous ballot, according to the minutes. Infrastructure Committee seats went to Supervisors Pedretti (west), Olson (central), Wilson (east) and at-large seats to Lawler and Jacobson. In Human Services & Veterans Services, Supervisors Champion and Strudthoff won three‑year seats, Lawton won a one‑year vacancy, and Jody Schroeder was elected the citizen member.
The board also appointed Supervisor Slack to the Vernon Manor Board of Trustees to complete an unexpired term ending in 2028. The reorganizational votes were carried out by secret ballot or voice vote as required by the board rules and were announced by Clerk Pedretti.
