The Parks, Recreation & Tourism Committee voted to advance a proposal raising riding cart fees by $1.75 across the board at the City Club golf course, a change staff said is needed to meet revenue targets that support other city services.
The course manager described the change as necessary after lease and equipment costs rose—for example, monthly cart payments increased substantially—and said the proposed increase would help maintain a target transfer of roughly $400,000 per year from the golf course fund to the general fund. "I would propose... this would become effective September 29," the manager said. A motion to move the fee increase forward passed on a voice vote recorded as 3–0.
