During discussion of upcoming events at Centennial Park, commissioners asked whether a dividing fence at the dog park had been removed before the National Pet Day event. Chair Schmidt asked directly, "Do you know I mean, I wasn't there today, but has the fence been taken down yet dividing?" Staff replied, "We hope so," and described recent extra maintenance caused by heavier-than-expected park use.
Staff said they will post reserve and no-parking signage ahead of large events and try to balance public access with space reserved for vendors. Commissioners and staff discussed the need to avoid shutting down the park where possible and to use flexible arrangements if turnout differs from expectations.
