Staff outlines plan to convert annex into a satellite senior center

Kim described the envisioned space: an enclosed breezeway with an automatic door to connect the senior center and the community center, accessible activity rooms, and furnishings such as televisions and a sound system for performances. "We are gonna be converting that into a a senior center," Kim said, and staff are obtaining contractor bids to determine true costs. Kim added the center will not include a certified kitchen, so meals would continue to be provided through the main community center.
Staff said funding for renovation and furnishings is being pursued and that more detailed cost estimates will come once bids are received. No final appropriation or contract award occurred at this meeting.
