The Hurst City Council presented public recognition May 26 to Sunny Patel, the city’s head of information technology, after staff noted he received an award from the Texas Association of Government Information Technology Managers and has 28 years of service with the city.
Assistant city manager Clayton Fulton and others praised Patel’s professional involvement, noting his work with peer agencies and his role in encouraging completion of state‑required cybersecurity and AI training across departments. Patel said the award was "an honor receiving this award," and introduced members of his IT team to the council.
