The council approved resolution R‑2026‑064 to contract with Service 1st Janitorial for custodial services for city buildings through the TIPSS interlocal purchasing system, in an amount of $91,800 for FY2026.
Public Works Director Rick Coronado said the prior provider had persistent performance issues related to turnover and training and that the new contract is intended to provide reliable service across city facilities. "We currently have a contract with a service provider that's been in service for… probably in excess of five years. Over the last, I'd say, several months, we've had challenges with them meeting the service that we need here with the city of Hutto," Coronado said. Council voted to approve the contract with a minor correction to the resolution language as noted by staff.
