Planning commission continues Park Place 2 hearing to Sept. 14

The Oregon City Planning Commission voted to continue the public hearing on the Park Place 2 subdivision to Sept. 14, 2026, with the record kept open to allow applicants to submit revised natural-resources materials for additional consultant review. A motion to set a date-certain continuation at 7 p.m. in the Hanlon Commission Chambers was moved and seconded and recorded as approved in the meeting roll call.

Planning staff told the commission the continuation was necessary because the applicant submitted further revisions to the natural-resources portion of the subdivision application, which triggered a Type 3 review for stormwater impacts. "The purpose of our recommendation this evening is to request, on behalf of the applicant a continuation of the public hearing for the Park Place to subdivision proposal," staff said. Applicant representative Harlan Morrow said the team is revising stormwater plans and hopes to return with materials in time for the September date.

During discussion, commissioners asked about alternatives to avoid encroaching into the area described in the materials and whether a second pond or eliminating lots could create space for stormwater facilities. The applicant described topographic and geotechnical constraints that limit pond siting and said the team is evaluating options before the next hearing.

The motion to continue was made by a commissioner and was seconded; the meeting record includes affirmative 'Aye' responses recorded for Commissioners LaSalle, Guille, Meine and Laws.
