The Huber Heights Planning Commission unanimously approved a minor change request by applicant Timothy Parker to expand employee parking by about 32 spaces at Dayton Children’s facility, located at 8501 Old Troy Pike (Case MC 2601). Staff presented the 3.8-acre planned commercial site, pointed out that the proposed stalls are 9-by-18 feet (code calls for 10-by-18), and said that with the employee-parking use staff was comfortable recommending approval. "Staff recommends approval as submitted," Aaron Sorrell told the commission.
During public comment, resident Glenn Smith asked whether the proposed spaces abut Kettering Medical Center; staff clarified the new spaces will occupy a grassy area to the front of the lot and that access will remain via the main drive. The motion to approve was moved by Commissioner Thomas and seconded by Mr. Johnson; the roll call reflected support and the commission directed the applicant to submit the zoning application and plans to Montgomery County as the next step.
